Back in August (5th to be exact), I managed to snag the first public copy of the Player’s Handbook… in the whole world. It was an awesome feeling to call “FIRST”. Of course, that meant for the next week I was answering questions on EN World as people wanted info on the new edition of D&D. I hope that was not my 15 minutes of fame, but I will accept that it was great fun reading the book before anyone else could.
Yesterday, my friend held a session to start a new campaign. We rolled ability scores (18, 18, 17, 17, 15, 6 or 17, 17, 15, 14, 14, 12) and everyone else delved into their concepts and fleshed out their character sheets. Today, I still have not decided what to play. I know the PHB pretty well, but now I am last to build a character.
Funny how that happens.
Only characters concept I can think of are: Salvo, dual-hand-crossbow-wielding swashbuckler-type; Naught, a naive and literal warforged or half-orc that has the qualities of Baymax from Big Hero 6; or a low Charisma sociopath akin to Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock.
What do you think I should play?
But… what do I know…?
