Spotlight: Brandon Sanderson

It was over a year ago that I wrote about Brandon Sandersonstill my favorite author–but I have not said too much about him lately. I listen to Writing Excuses nearly every week, but it was not until a few hours ago that I received the quarterly-ish newsletter and I realized it might be a good time to see what he is up to.

As many will know, Brandon Sanderson is a very prolific writer with a lot of novel credits to his name. His latest writing work will be an collection of short fiction called Arcanum Unbounded which I am definitely excited about, but there is a ton more. A comic version of an early book called White Sand is out now in stores, a three-part graphic novel. I also just found out about Mistborn: House War, a board game on Kickstarter. As a fan, I am severely tempted, but I generally dislike backing board games because of the long wait time for my reward. Two books were released earlier this year and Perfect State received a Hugo Award nomination as well.

I was initially disappointed that there would be no more books this year after the two early releases, but now it looks like a lot of stuff to look forward to!

But… what do I know…?

      1. Oh, I’m sure there’s more than a few Sanderclones behind the scene working to create more copies. And then in a few years time, Sanderson will announced that he accidentally wrote every single Cosmere book.
